Be well-prepared for your massage. This will help you to get the most out of the experience.
General questions
Before making your booking, you may want to take a look at these general questions.
Generally, the answer is no.
On rare occasions it may be possible to arrange. For example, for a group of clients, disabled clients, or for a sporting event. There may be a supplement charged.
The practitioner works solo, so couples massage (where two people are massaged at the same time) is not possible.
However, consecutive appointments are possible. If you require this, please make contact so the start time of the second massage can be adjusted to minimize your waiting time.
Depending on the weather and time of day, the waiting person has a few options to pass the time:
- In summertime, wait in the parking area on a sun lounger, enjoying the beautiful views.
- Go for a walk in the hamlet of Champanastais and the local woods directly from Hibiscus Massage (directions provided on request).
- Visit the lake in Lauzet-Ubaye by car, 3km from Hibiscus Massage. In summer there is a snack bar, La Buvette du Lac, with a chillout area.
- Have a drink at one of the hotels in Lauzet-Ubaye, 3km from Hibiscus Massage (Le Lauzetane or Le Relais Lac).
- Wait in the car or even stay in the massage room if your companion does not mind.
Yes, the practitioner trained in pregnancy massage in the UK. It’s an adapted Swedish massage session. The client lies on her side, with some time on her back.
Pregnancy massage is available during the second or third trimesters. You can book in if you have no serious medical problems. If in doubt, please call to discuss.
The normal hours are from 14:00 – 19:30 every day, by appointment only.
If you’re unable to make it during the normal hours, please say the time you want and the type of massage and duration. We’ll then let you know if we can book you in.
Any extra sessions are announced via the Hibiscus Massage Facebook Page.
Under normal circumstances, it will be within six hours of receiving your enquiry.
As the massage practitioner also manages the reception during busy times, it may take a little longer to respond.
Gift certificates are available to buy online and expire after one year.
Once the payment has been received, the gift certificate will be sent by email.
Buying a gift certificate online takes only a couple of minutes and keeps your bank details safe. Click on the BUY A GIFT button from any page on the site. Select the amount you wish to give and follow the instructions to pay with your bank card.
Use the recipient’s name and your own email address if you want to print it out or give it to them in person. Or use their email address for the gift certificate to arrive in their inbox immediately.
Yes, all gift certificates are transferable. So if you’re unable to use your gift certificate for any reason, you can give it to someone else.

Clients with a Booking
There isn’t a waiting room, so please don’t arrive too early. If you do, you may disturb the previous client or the room may not be ready.
Please arrive 10 minutes before your appointment. This will give you time to fill in the form, use the bathroom and get undressed without feeling rushed.
So long as you arrive on time, your massage time starts once the practitioner lays their hands on you. If you arrive late, you won’t receive an extension to your scheduled appointment time.
Please pay at the end of your session by cash, a check or a gift certificate. Card payments aren’t accepted, and there isn’t an ATM nearby.
It’s best to cancel or reschedule your appointment with at least 24 hours notice. Yet sometimes it’s not possible to give this much notice due to sudden sickness or unforeseen events.
You can cancel by text, phone message or email. There will be no charge if you cancel your appointment at least 2 hours beforehand.
No-shows or cancelations less than 2 hours before the massage start time may incur a charge. This will be 50% of the cost of the massage. If the cancelation policy is applied, you’ll receive an invoice via email for payment as soon as possible.
If you get sick, please cancel. You shouldn’t receive a massage if you’re feeling unwell. You may be contagious, and you won’t enjoy the experience.

To say thank you for recommending Hibiscus Massage, you’ll get a discount for each new client who comes for their first massage.
Just ask this person to mention your name when they first visit. You’ll then receive an email confirming the offer.
This offer will allow you to enjoy a 2h Thai massage or a 1h30 lava shells massage for 70 euros instead of 100 euros.
This offer must be used within four months.
Yes, you’re rewarded for your loyalty.
For every nine massages purchased, you’ll receive a free 1h30 massage of your choice. So your tenth massage will be free.
This applies to all sessions you pay for. This includes those for friends and family members, and any gift certificates you buy.
